Vermin gnawing through cables, timber, and plasterboard is a common problem with older properties, wherever they are located – rural or city. However the suggestion from a plumber after a recently installed shower started leaking that, he thought the waste pipes had been ‘chewed’ was I must say treated with some skepticism!
However, be very afraid! Clearly, there are some vermin in and around the Canterbury area who have obviously had not only their Weetabix but also some damned good calcium tablets! On exposure, the section of pipe from under the shower tray in quite a confined floor void was found to be well and truly gnawed!
